Davida currently serves clients as a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern with Kelle DeBruin Counseling. In previous private practice in Hawai’i, Davida helped individuals and families resolve obstacles to communication breakdowns, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), cultural factors, eating disorders, persistent depression, and Borderline Personality Disorder.
As a socioculturally attuned clinician, she enjoys working with couples and families and specializes in treating trauma, grief, depression, chronic stress, and low self esteem. She helps her clients strengthen communication skills, learn healthy coping mechanisms, develop self actualization, and increase personal empowerment.
To support clients’ transformation, Davida employs Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. She brings warmth, support and non-judgmental presence into her sessions and honors the mind-body connection.
Davida is supervised by Kelle DeBruin.
