Kendall is a Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Oregon. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from Oregon State University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Oregon State University-Cascades, and has spent the last three years as a high school counselor.

As a Clinician, Kendall’s first priority is to build a strong relationship with her client because she believes that trust and comfortability is the foundation where growth and healing can take place. Together, Kendall and her client will explore your past to get an understanding of how it has shaped who you are today, identify the areas of your life that are getting in the way of you becoming the best version of yourself in the present, and work towards overcoming any barriers to get you where you want to go in the future. Kendall believes that counseling should be a collaborative process because you are the expert in your life, as the therapist is there to help support the client in the process.

Kendall offers counseling to individuals ranging from early adolescence through adulthood.

For her younger clients, she will utilize play therapy techniques for client to lead the session and show areas that need to be addressed and worked through while giving time to be in control of their world. Therapy sessions will also use Gestalt role-play and drama techniques to help with conflict, mindfulness/breathing techniques to give them tools when things feel too big and out of control, and Narrative therapy to put the problem outside of the child and work on it in a less threatening way.

For her older clients, Kendall will utilize interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help with changing thinking patterns, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy giving some tangible skills, Motivational Interviewing to help identify possible barriers/resistance to change, Gestalt role-play and drama techniques to help with conflict, and mindfulness to help slow things down and help them feel more manageable. Her overall goal is to help start the healing process and give relief from pain you have been carrying around.

Kendall is supervised by Kelle DeBruin.
